Rock and Roll, Baby.

Good evening!

Well. It's been a while, has it not? Grandma has (once again!) given me orders to update here. And this time, I decided to give it a go!

So much has happened! Okay. I'll start with college. During November, I went to a number of college open evenings. The first one I went to was amazing. As we walked into Longley Park Sixth Form College, we were greeted my masses of displays of A Level art work. As mother has probably told you, it was stunning. We then progressed to the Photography room, where portfolios were laid out by state of the art computers where I would be working. We stayed in there for a good length of time, marvelling over the skills of some of these people. From here, we moved onto Biology (the teacher was a bit weird, but the subject looked alright to me) then English (which I loved) and finally Psychology. In this room, we were approached by some of the students who talked me through the course, and then the teacher joined in who put some some of worries to rest. I left feeling much better about the whole going to college thing, and was head over heels in love with Longley.

I'm not even going to talk about the other two we went to. They were both awful, and I hated them. =] So I had an interview with the principal of Longley, was accepted and sent off the letter officially accepting my place earlier this week. =D

It's been mock exam week this week. I've finally finished now; it's been hellish. I've been to see a few of my teachers already, and discovered that I got the lowest grade in my maths class: a very very low C. However, that was just a practice exam, and it's only one of three anyway. (I take three different Maths exams on three different topics. These grades are averaged out to get my overall grade for the subject, and I'm targeted for a B. As long as I get at least a C, I can still do Biology at college!)

My French teacher also spoke to me today. Well, I say spoke; it was speaking at a very high volume. I got a middle D in my Higher French Listening paper, when I'm predicted a C. I don't understand his reasoning though: I got more marks than I did in my Year 10 mock (last year) and I've never been very good at listening. Also, I did the Foundation paper as well, to see which tier I should be entered for in the Summer, and got a solid C. Because of his fantastic little morale booster, when I went into my French Reading exam later on I panicked, and have probably now failed that, too.

On a lighter note... After this pep talk, I went to find Mrs Darragh (my English and Drama teacher) to get my grades from her. I got a high A in my Literature paper, an A* in the second English paper (she's not marked the first yet) and my Drama coursework is heading for an A*, if my performance was good enough and if my written evaluation is as good as what my spoken one has been. So I'm quite happy about that!

I'm having Christmas tomorrow! I'm going to Logan's tomorrow afternoon and we're exchanging presents and doing as many other Christmassy things as we can think of. I've been told that his present to me is quite good, so I'm rather looking forward to that! He's picking me up from work and everything!

Ooh, my job! I can't believe I've not mentioned it. I love my job. I get to sit on a hard stool with my hand shoved up a reindeer's backside, freezing MY backside off, trying to be funny whilst having Rudolph's antlers yanked on. =] It's so worth it though. The kids absolutely adore him. So far over the past few weeks, he's sellotaped his sister to the wall whilst wrapping presents, eaten his weight's worth in carrots, told several groan worthy jokes (What's white and goes up? A confused snowflake!) and made several young children cry by sneezing too loud. Not to mention the £200 plus I'll have by the time I finish at 1 o'clock on Monday!

Okay, I think I've rambled quite enough now. If you think I've missed anything, let me know so I can add it. Merry Christmas and all that, and I'm sure I'll see you all over the next few weeks!!

Lots of love XX

Green skinny jeans
3 x Whittard of Chelsea hot chocolate

1 pair of fluffy handcuffs
A transsexual carrot
A teddy bear

Nose studs
A watch
Orange eyeshadow
*laughs* Durex Pleasure Kit
A blueberry flavoured condom
Several pairs of brightly coloured tights
A pirate hat
A cutlass
Sparkly dusting powder

And I think that's about it. What hilarious friends I have!

I've had a fantastic birthday. My party went really well; everyone made such an effort for me! I was so impressed. I was a pirate, whilst we had the Blues Brothers, the Godfather, a can-can dancer, Siamese hookers, a gothic leprechaun, Old Greg (Google him), a cowgirl, Marcel Marceau and Minnie Mouse, amongst others. There was enough chocolate to feed an entire army, and the band were fantastic. Have a look at the photos. =)

By the end of the set, we had his shirt completely off. This is Chris, by the way, Vicki's boyfriend.

Kelly and Kieran tried doing the Wizard of Oz forest walk. You know, where they're singing 'Lions, tigers and bears; Oh my!' They got most of the way across the room before falling over. Kieran took this as a great opportunity to scream "I'M OLD GREG AND I GOT A MANGIIINA!" at me as I took a picture!

I'm not really sure. But it's a good picture!

So, all in all, I had a good party! A few people came back afterwards, and we all just sat around chatting and watching telly. It was nice. =)

That's about it from me. My new phone is the best thing since sparkly hairspray, and Lumpy the heffalump is my new best friend. =D Thank you very very ever so much to everyone who bought me something, sent me somewhere, helped out with stuff, or has simply put up with me for 16 years!!

Lots of Love

Girl With The Golden Touch

First day back at school. Well.

It wasn't too bad. We started off with getting our timetables (Drama last thing on a Friday! That's terrible!) and going through all the rules and stuff. Then we went into assembly.

Mrs Featherstone (our headteacher) started by telling us how awful we were, and how badly we went into the hall. Then she went into a rant about how we're the oldest, most responsible year group now. That was boring. Then she told us all to walk out slowly, so she could check our 'standard dress' (uniform.) She was pulling people out for wearing combat trousers, jeans, black trainers, too much makeup, too many bracelets, air too long, smile too wide... But I managed to walk straight out wearing corduroy jeans, Converse trainers, huge eyeliner and about 50 bracelets! I was proud of myself!

Next we went for lunch. We all stood outside our (very little) block with lots of people in the lovely sun, and had a lovely time. Then we went to ICT, which was boring.

Next comes the best bit. Are you ready? Prepare yourselves... (No sarcasm, by the way!)

We went up to Science, and after much confusion, ended up in E7 having Biology. We didn't actually do any Biology- we just listened to Mr Bishop going on about exams and other boring stuff. But then he got out his results book and told his he had our Physics results back from last year.

I got 40/40 on both tests. Equalling two A*s. (The best grade you can get) =D

Overall, all of my exam results averaged out to a B for Year 10 (4th Year.) That was only because I did badly in one exam, which I should be able to resit. So I might be looking at an A for half of my Science grade!

That grade made me so excited I had to remind myself how to breathe whilst jumping around E7.

That's all for now, folks. See you soon xxx

Singing 'Here We Go Again'

Well. Last day of the summer holidays. Back to school tomorrow, to begin my fifth and final year of High School. I'm terrified. =]

I'll be turning 16 in 6 weeks, which'll bring a whole lot more responsibility. It does mean that I'm legally allowed to do more things- like get stuff pierced- but it also brings mock exams, real exams, lots of hard work, revision (that I still haven't quite got the hang of) and friends. Trying to keep friends happy, even with the stress we'll all be under.

Looks like I'm headed for an interesting year.

This Summer. Wow. Made some new friends, found some old ones, lost one or two. Read four Harry Potter books. Been bored senseless, or had the best fun I've had in ages. I didn't have a theme song this year, though.

I think I'm going to miss Summer. I'll go back to school, get shouted at for not doing my coursework (for very good reason!), get told I'm the oldest in the school now, have a lot of responsibility, have life changing exams coming up... I can see myself slipping into a huge stupor.

Oh well. =]

I've had a good summer. My birthday to look forward to now!

Lots of love xxx

P.S. Auntie Leeta, The Sonic Hearts is on Friday. I'm still not sure i we're going, but if it's still alright, could I have the money this week? If we end up not going, I'll of course give it straight back! Thank yooou =]

My Fingertips Are Holding Onto The Cracks In Our Foundations.

Oof, 'ello! (Title: Kate Nash - Foundations)

Well, I've not spoken to you lot in a while! Sorry about that, it being Summer holidays and all. =]

First of all, you should know that Lee and I broke up tonight. I'd rather not go into it right now, but I'm alright. He took it okay, too. =]

Right then. I got back from London yesterday. (Yes, again!) I had an amazing time. Ask Mum- I must have used the word amazing at least 10 times on the phone to her!

I stayed at Kelly's house Friday night, and we were up and out by 9 o'clock Saturday morning. We slept for the first bit of the journey, then woke up just as we hit roadworks! The slower we drove, the more excited we got.

Finally, at about 1/4 past one, we arrived at the (wrong) hotel. Three minutes drive up the road, and we found our bigger, better hotel. We were back out and walking to the tube within the minute! It took us a while to work it out, but eventually we were on our way to Camden Town.

Here I am being terribly over-excited in Camden Market. In my sunnies and Kelly's hat. =]

We were there for a good 3 hours. I absolutely loved it. I found the shop my prom dress is coming from. They were all big gothicy dresses with huge underskirts. I also bought a new dress and some boots to match. I have great pride in my new, bright blue, boots. I shall put a picture in a minute.

From Camden, we went back to the hotel to wash our sweaty selves and get prettied up for going out to dinner to...

Hard Rock Cafe! Of course the queue was an hour and a half long, but we were allowed to go sit and wait in the bar. And what else would you expect for Hard Rock Cafe on a Saturday night?? There's me and Kelly, in the queue, in our new boots and my new dress. What do you think? I have a better picture of the dress, but Mummy said I look like a tart in that picture, so I won't post it... =D

A sign in the window of the restaurant- it made us laugh!

Me and Kelly at the table- I thought it was quite nice, and that it was my duty to share!

After the meal (and after I found an abandoned staff card and claimed it) we got back on the tube and went back to the hotel. My new boots were absolutely killing me (took the skin off the back of my ankle. It was the last pair, and the right boot had been on display) so I was more than glad to be able to get to the hotel bar and whip them off. Kelly and I then went to reception with a 'free stuff' list:

Teabags
Sugar
Milk
Coffee
Plasters

The guy behind reception dutifully found everything we needed, and we went back to where Kelly's mum, Jackie was sitting. I presented her with a plaster for where her strappy heels were digging into her foot, and I thought she was going to cry, she was so happy! She was so pleased with her present of a blue plaster, that she said I was lovely and could definitely come again!

On the way back up to our room, Kelly and I found a Ben and Jerry's ice cream dispenser. I took no haste in finding £2 and buying a pot of Cookie Dough ice cream. Yum. So off we went to bed, made a cup of tea, watched some Channel 4, and were asleep by 2am. =]

The next morning, we met Kelly's parents in the lobby and packed our bags into the car. We walked round the corner, and split off for breakfast: them to a nice little Cafe, and us to McDonald's! I had an egg McMuffin and hash brown (evidence below!) and very nice it was, too. (Also below, our choice of below-the-knee wear!)

After breakfast, it was on the tube and away to Waterloo... Where the London Eye stands.

That wasn't amazing. It was beyond amazing. I absolutely loved it. Standing underneath it, it was massive.

It was quite scary looking up at it! The weather here was quite overcast and cloudy. It cleared in about 5 minutes though, just as we were getting into our pod! Here's a string of photos taken from various heights over London...

I very much urge you all, if you get the chance, to go on here. Even if you're scared of heights- get over it and go! It give the most amazing view of London. It's seriously amazing. AMAZING!

When we got off, we took a leisurely stroll down the street next to the Eye. There were performers all the way down on both sides, and was great fun. On our journey (ice creams in tow!) we saw several "statues", one or two guys with guitars, an old man on a harmonica, a man with no head, and a Captain Jack Sparrow! (And a picture of Kelly and I with the Eye in the background.)

Back on the tube, through a number of different stops, until we finally arrived... On Oxford Street! It was scorching hot, and packed. But we still managed to love it! After about 3/4 of an hour, though, our feet were killing us and my shoulders were going pink. After one desperate search for Primark (we didn't find it) we took cover in Topshop until it was time to go home.

Soon enough, we were fast asleep in the car, and I was home by 7. All in all, I had a wonderful time, and can't wait to go back. I love London!!

See you all soon

In Reply...

I was going to put this in my comment box, but it just got too long!

Hahahahahahaa!!

He won't want to put a skirt on- he put it on the other day at band practice the other day because his jeans were too hot, but he wouldn't let me take a picture!

He's got 3 or 4 little chunks of purple round his head- it's gone kind of pinky/purple though, but he doesn't seem to mind!

Auntie Tina, the dye that I've used doesn't need bleach underneath. I don't know how it does it, because it's semi-permanent with no bleach in it, but the dye sticks to the hair without any need of any preparation!

As for dying hair blue or green, those dyes don't work. For some reason, the blue pigments in hair dye only stick to white blonde hair, and wash out very quickly. Do you not remember when Livvie had a red and blue stripe in her hair for holiday? The blue was gone within the first few days of being in the pool, whereas the red stayed in for most of the holiday.

Two of those gigs are before my birthday: The Sonic Hearts is in September. I'm very much hoping that either Donna will phone me to ask me to babysit (and then give me that £5 she owes me from last time!) or that I'll discover where Daddy keeps his money tree!
