Rock and Roll, Baby.

Good evening!

Well. It's been a while, has it not? Grandma has (once again!) given me orders to update here. And this time, I decided to give it a go!

So much has happened! Okay. I'll start with college. During November, I went to a number of college open evenings. The first one I went to was amazing. As we walked into Longley Park Sixth Form College, we were greeted my masses of displays of A Level art work. As mother has probably told you, it was stunning. We then progressed to the Photography room, where portfolios were laid out by state of the art computers where I would be working. We stayed in there for a good length of time, marvelling over the skills of some of these people. From here, we moved onto Biology (the teacher was a bit weird, but the subject looked alright to me) then English (which I loved) and finally Psychology. In this room, we were approached by some of the students who talked me through the course, and then the teacher joined in who put some some of worries to rest. I left feeling much better about the whole going to college thing, and was head over heels in love with Longley.

I'm not even going to talk about the other two we went to. They were both awful, and I hated them. =] So I had an interview with the principal of Longley, was accepted and sent off the letter officially accepting my place earlier this week. =D

It's been mock exam week this week. I've finally finished now; it's been hellish. I've been to see a few of my teachers already, and discovered that I got the lowest grade in my maths class: a very very low C. However, that was just a practice exam, and it's only one of three anyway. (I take three different Maths exams on three different topics. These grades are averaged out to get my overall grade for the subject, and I'm targeted for a B. As long as I get at least a C, I can still do Biology at college!)

My French teacher also spoke to me today. Well, I say spoke; it was speaking at a very high volume. I got a middle D in my Higher French Listening paper, when I'm predicted a C. I don't understand his reasoning though: I got more marks than I did in my Year 10 mock (last year) and I've never been very good at listening. Also, I did the Foundation paper as well, to see which tier I should be entered for in the Summer, and got a solid C. Because of his fantastic little morale booster, when I went into my French Reading exam later on I panicked, and have probably now failed that, too.

On a lighter note... After this pep talk, I went to find Mrs Darragh (my English and Drama teacher) to get my grades from her. I got a high A in my Literature paper, an A* in the second English paper (she's not marked the first yet) and my Drama coursework is heading for an A*, if my performance was good enough and if my written evaluation is as good as what my spoken one has been. So I'm quite happy about that!

I'm having Christmas tomorrow! I'm going to Logan's tomorrow afternoon and we're exchanging presents and doing as many other Christmassy things as we can think of. I've been told that his present to me is quite good, so I'm rather looking forward to that! He's picking me up from work and everything!

Ooh, my job! I can't believe I've not mentioned it. I love my job. I get to sit on a hard stool with my hand shoved up a reindeer's backside, freezing MY backside off, trying to be funny whilst having Rudolph's antlers yanked on. =] It's so worth it though. The kids absolutely adore him. So far over the past few weeks, he's sellotaped his sister to the wall whilst wrapping presents, eaten his weight's worth in carrots, told several groan worthy jokes (What's white and goes up? A confused snowflake!) and made several young children cry by sneezing too loud. Not to mention the £200 plus I'll have by the time I finish at 1 o'clock on Monday!

Okay, I think I've rambled quite enough now. If you think I've missed anything, let me know so I can add it. Merry Christmas and all that, and I'm sure I'll see you all over the next few weeks!!

Lots of love XX

You sound like you are a very happy bunny in spite of those silly grades. Takes me back many moons to Auntie Lynne's climb up the same ladder. She was so much like you in so many ways, but I suppose that's how most teenagers following my generation are. Congratulations on all you have achieved so far, and good wishes for all you hope to achieve. We are all so proud of our Emily XX

I am hoping they may have another open day at the college, so that grandpa and I can have a look round:0)I know mum was very impressed with all it had to offer.
Does it matter what grade C you get for you to do biology? Can it be a very low C? However, I am sure when the time comes for your real exam, you will do okay:0)

Anyone reading this is still none the wiser as to what you do for a job Emily. All you've told so far is that you shove your hand up Rudolf's bum and make children cry. Oooh-er!

It doesn't matter what C I get, thank goodness. However, I've already done one of the exams, and I'm sure I did alright in that one. Also, my coursework was an A/B ish grade (our teacher hasn't given official grades yet) so even if I do mess up a bit on these next two exams, I should be okay!

As to my job; I'm a puppeteer in Santa's Grotto! Sorry if I didn't make that very clear before! =]
