Little note. =]

Just a super speedy note.

Firstly, a lot of you have been asking about the Photobucket slideshow. In answer to Auntie Tina: yes, it is easy!

Click here to go to Photobucket's homepage. Here, click 'Join Now' and sign up. The rest is pretty self explanatory: just upload the pictures the way it tells you, then click 'Create Slideshow'. Choose the pictures you want, click 'Save', and there you go. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Secondly, you all want to know about Lee's glasses. We went down to choose him some today, and they should be ready by Thursday/Friday. They're just some simple, thin black frames, and they suit him quite nicely. But you'll have to wait to see them!

Finally, I got extra special post this morning. I got my National Insurance number! I wasn't expecting to receive it until nearer my 16th birthday (when I'm officially allowed to work) but then I realised, that's only two and a half months away! So I've updated my CV and cover letter, and am off to drop them into a few shops in Meadowhall on Wednesday. Yay! Money for Emily!!

Then maybe I can buy a digital camera that works. Or a mobile phone whose buttons don't stick. Or maybe a video camera. Ooh ooh, or earmuffs to not only protect me from dearest Olivia's two drumming machines, but also hers and Mother's beautiful renditions of Michael Jackson's 'Beat It' in the kitchen. Or maybe even a pony...

Much love xxx

Sunday 29 July 2007

Boredom and messy bedrooms.

Good... morning?

It's almost 1am, I'm not particularly sleepy (since it's a Sunday, I allowed myself to snooze until 11.30. I should've known I'd pay for it. =]) so I decided to write you all another blog.

Now, however, I am stuck as to what to write!

Ah, Let us begin with my disaster area of a bedroom. It's the messiest it's been in a good few months now, since Mum got fed up with it and cleared everything out, piling it all in the middle of my room for me to organise. At the moment, my desk is piled high with various moisturisers, bits of paper, makeup and other such things. This has resulted in the loss of my little pink comb. I can't find it anywhere: I've had the whole room upside down looking for it. I last had it last night when dying Livvie's hair. In fact, I had it after that, right here, straightening my fringe. But it's nowhere to be found. I expect it'll turn up. It usually does.

The rest of my room is a state. I have recently re-acquired Livvie's leopard print bean bag. This bean bag has not only become Minnie's new favourite sleeping place, but a replacement for the sky-hooks I keep in various places about my room. There are all sorts of clothes that I've worn for one day, put there for safe keeping, then needed a different outfit for the next day. Then, of course, Minnie falls asleep on them, all curled up and looking cute, and I don't have the heart to shift her when I get my random 'let's pick some stuff up now' urges.

Have a look...

(Clever, eh?) There was a fourth picture, showing my unmade bed with a cluster of shoes half a centimetre away from the wardrobe in which they live. But it didn't work.

As you can see, it appears a bomb of... well, stuff, has gone off in my bedroom.

Now, I would normally just leave it and hope nobody noticed. However, I have incentive. Mummy has agreed that if by the time she is 100% better I have managed to keep my room tidy, she will decorate it. Seeing as it hasn't been decorated since we first moved in and this room was a garage over 6 years ago, I'm dying to see some improvement! So I think I will now have a quick flit round, removing all unnecessary bits and bobs.

Foof. 25 minutes later (my desk taking the majority!) and it's done. Well, tidy, anyway. My bed remains unchanged and my bin un-emptied, but those are things that can't really be done at 1.30 in the morning!

Pictures of clean(er) room? I think so. (Apologies for the terrible quality: my camera died (again) so I had to use my mobile!)

My desk doesn't look that much tidier there. Believe me, it is! Oh, and the little pile on the chair is tomorrow's clothes and a CD that needs to be taken back to Mother that I forgot I had!

Well, an hour after declaring I was bored, I think it's time for bed. Night night!

I'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen!

Good morning. (Just!) Don't you love the title of today's update? It's a new song of Avril Lavigne- remember, that singer that Livvie was trying to be a year or so ago? Her new album is basically all about girl power. =]

Right, I shall now attempt, once again, to put those London pictures on for you. Here goes...

Yay! Right, I can't remember what this is, but I do know they have to have 4 blackbirds- or maybe it was magpies? It was a bird that was black anyway- in the castle at all times for luck. When one dies, they leave it there until it can be replaced.

I have just been informed by a very amused mother that this is in fact the Tower of London, and is occupied by four Ravens. I was also informed that it is one of the most famous landmarks in Britain. I apologise for my un-history-knowledgeable stupidity. =]

Our tour guide, Marion, told us a "joke" about the moat here: "Why is there no water in the moat?" After much speculation, and her asking if anyone knew, she said "It's easier to cut the grass that way." The joke was so bad, that my English teacher, Mrs Darragh, actually asked if that was true!

This here is a very pretty picture of one of the many bridges we crossed: Marion getting over excited about each one! This particular one was Tower Bridge, and Vicki got a very pretty shot of it, I think.

At night, this bridge looks gorgeous, with all the lights on. I do have a picture of that, but it's from a distance and blurry, so I shan't post it.

Of course, Piccadilly Circus. We didn't get to stop here, but it was too cool not to post a picture of it! Looks a lot like Times Square, doesn't it? Shame I won't be going there: Unless someone wants to donate £800 to the Send-Emily-To-New-York fund?

ARGH! That's it, I've had enough of this 'Insert Image' rubbish. I'll use Photobucket. Then I can just copy the HTML tag exactly where I want it without having to frag it from the top. Which is very irritating. Anyway...

Me and Kieran, in Planet Hollywood. If Kieran does not want to pose for a photo, Kieran will not. I, however, am glad to! Here you can see the pretty dress that I wore to the theatre. I put those red bits in my hair especially for the trip, too!

This, my friends, is the next big thing. In this glass, there was at first just Coca-Cola. Little did this glass know it was soon to made into an all-in-one meal!

So yes, I had an overly mature moment and squirted ketchup into Katie's drink. She didn't want it, so why couldn't I play? Next went the salt. I tipped it in and the whole thing started to fizz and I had to stop before it overflowed. Kelly then added a chip, followed by some English Mustard. We topped the whole thing off with an onion ring, and it looked absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately, we couldn't get anyone to drink it for our entertainment, so we just took a picture of it instead. Ah, the joys of being a bunch of 15-year-olds in a restaurant!

Ahh, Big Ben. We drove right next to it. And, once again, Vicki put her photography skills to use and took a pretty picture of it!

This man was sat on a horse outside the main gates of the Houses of Parliament. 'Oh lah-di-dah,' you think, 'how exciting.' But then you look a little a closer at his face... Just look at the pout on that! He's loving all the attention he's getting from the surrounding girlies. I found it amusing. =]

Left to right: Vicki, Peggy, Emily, Sophie and me. We're sat on the war memorial thingy in Trafalgar Square. I don't know where Kelly was at this point, otherwise this picture would have been all the girlies. She was probably playing on a lion!

Here we all are, sat along the wall next to the Thames. We'd just come out of Shakespeare's Globe and had 3/4 of an hour to kill. Some of us went to Starbucks, and others went to find lunch. Kelly's taking this picture, hence she's not in it. I don't think she's in any of these...

Me in Planet Hollywood. I put this picture on purely because I like it. =]

Kieran wanted to pose this time. He calls this his Johnny Rotten face. I call it his child molester face. Anyway, behind him is Emily, and next to him is Joe. Joe lives just up the road and is a total angel. You lot'd love him!

Just a lion. In Trafalgar Square. In London. Where I was. =]

And finally, Mrs Darragh. She organised the whole trip. Mrs Darragh's my English and Drama teacher, and I think she's amazing. It's because of her that I keep getting all these As and A*s! (A*'s the bestest best grade you can get. And I got one in my mock English GCSE.)

And that's all the interesting pictures from London. Let me finish straightening my hair, however, and I have something else to show you.

Oh, a lot of you have been asking about Lee's glasses. We're going down to get them tomorrow, as the ones in the opticians in Meadowhall were naff and expensive. He doesn't look too bad in my glasses, but I think slightly less thick frames might suit him better. But I shall get a picture of him in them for you tomorrow!

Right, I've finished my hair, eaten lunch, and done everything else I needed to do. Now I shall show you what I promised to show you. Ready?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

WE HAVE RED HAIR! Mine, as you can see, is completely red, whereas Livvie just has a slice.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Doesn't Livvie look skinny there? And look at my new nose stud sparkling. Better than that horrible gold thing, eh?

So, what do you think? Mother doesn't know about it yet. No doubt she'll be thrilled when she gets home from Wales though. =D

Finally, two hours after I started, my blog for today is done. I'll get a picture of Lee in his glasses for you tomorrow. Byyee!

Sing a sad song just to turn it around!

Hello chaps! Today's title is from Daniel Powter's 'Bad Day': very fitting for the day's events! And I also happen to agree with this line. If you're having a naff day, singing a song about someone having a naffer day than you makes you feel all the better!

Grandma was complaining that I hadn't blogged in ages, so here we go. A blog.

First, let me tell you about my day today. I was on the bus to Meadowhall by 12 o'clock. (Yes, I got out of bed before midday. There, I saved anyone having to make that "joke" =]) I was taking Lee to the opticians to get his rubbish eyes checked. He last had an eye test about 6 years ago: he wore the glasses for about 3 months, got bored of them and threw them away. But now he's off to college, he realised he's going to actually need to see things.

So, we got to Meadowhall 15 minutes early, which Lee decided was a sign for him to eat. He got a sausage roll and a cream chocolate doughnut thing (which he ate in the optician's waiting room: MEN.) then we went for a 35 minute wait in the knickers that they call the optician's. That was boring.

Next, I was hungry. Lee saw the trip to McDonald's as yet another sign that he was eat. So we got Spicy Veggie Deli Sandwiches. I also got this new thing they were advertising called Mozzarella Dips, with a tomato dip. The silly woman forgot my dip. I was most upset.

After getting Lee a Student ID Card (bus pass for college that he pulled the most simple facial expression he could muster for) we moved on to town. On arrival, we instantly decided we'd get what we needed and leave, and not go wandering like we were supposed to with a few friends. 'Hurrah', I think, 'home to a nice cup of hot chocolate and a book in the rain!' Oh, how foolish of me.

We then spent the next hour and a half traipsing round all corners of Sheffield looking for any bloomin' music shop that sold Jim Dunlop metal Strap Locks. (For those who don't know: the bit on a guitar that holds the strap in place.) Of course, plastic wouldn't do, and neither would any other make. By the time Lee accepted that he didn't know where City Road was (apparently there's a place there that definitely sells them...) I'd stopped talking to him. I was cold, tired, wet, and the hole in my Converse had grown, letting water flow freely around my soggy toes. I was not a happy bunny!

Anyway, I'm home now, in our nice warm house, listening to some Country and Western rubbish on Radio Two, waiting for my jacket potato and beans. Yum.

I now have all of the pictures that were taken in London last week. I shall now post them all here for your viewing pleasure! (All pictures taken by me or a friend. No copyrights anywhere!)

Will have to add them later: blogger.com is being a gaylord and won't let me put any pictures on!

I'm currently in my first week of the summer holidays. So far, I've read the new Harry Potter book, (very good.) been to see The Simpsons Movie (brilliantly awful!) and sat around doing nothing. Apart from today's 'adventure', but I'm going to pretend that never happened!

Right. I'm off for dinner now. I'll try to get those pictures up later on for you. I'll update every few days I suppose: or just when something blog-worthy happens!

Lots of love xxx

Anarchy in the UK!

Hello! I'm back.

I had a fantastic time in London. When we got there, our tour guide (Marion) got on the coach, and then talked continously until we got off the coach. That was fun.

We went on a quic tour round Shakespeare's Globe first. I zoned out during the guide's speech about performances, because I'd already learnt it all twice over in English, so I took to examining the actual theatre instead. It was all solid oak, and with the open roof it was realy pretty. I was surprised at how small it was, but apaprently that was so that all of the people in the topmost balconies were easily viewed from all angles. It was really quite interesting. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, though, so I'm afraid I can't show you!

We were then allowed to wander in and aorund the Globe- so we went off to Starbucks for a hot chocolate and a belgian chocolate brownie! (Felt a little ill after... But it was so worth it!) Then we were back on the coach with annoying Tour Guide in Pink off to the hotel.

After several wrong turns and views of Tower Bridge (It goes up in the middle, you know!) we finally arrived at Quality West Ham Hotel. Our room looked out over the pitch. Surprisingly, it was actually quite a nice hotel. We all had half an hour to get prettied up, then we went back to the centre of London for a meal at Planet Hollywood (burger and chips all round, chaps!) then onto a theatre (can't remember the name) to see The Woman in Black.

The two and a half hours we spent watching that play were the scariest two and a half hours I've ever spent anywhere. I nearly broke Kelly's fingers I was squeezing them that hard!

The basic story is that a solicitor has to go and investigate the house of a recently passed woman. As it goes on, you find out that this house is horribly haunted, with mysterious sounds of a rocking chair behind a locked door in the night and bloodcurdling screams on a regular basis. The 'Woman in Black' herself had a bonnet on to shadow her face, and she popped in under half light to frigten the living daylights out of everyone here and there. All in all, it was a very good play with amazing actors: and the most terrifying experience I've ever had!

We got back to the hotel, speed changed into pyjamas and all sat around chatting and winding down, then off to bed. At about 1am everyone was settled down and fast asleep, ready for the next day.

The next morning, my alarm did silly things and we slept in 3/4 of an hour longer than we intended. I was washed, dressed and makeupped in half an hour- a personal best! After a yummy breakfast (with sadly disappointing hash browns) we set off for the National Gallery. We were talked through three different paintings, and it was a lot more interesting that I imagined. The guide talked us through a painting that Grandma has- of a tugboat and a big ship in the sunset. Apparently that was a real event of a ship being taken to be destroyed.

We finished our tour about 15 minutes before the other group, so we grabbed a camera and took lots of pointless pictures in the lobby. We then went off to play in Trafalgar Square for ten mintues, so all the boys coud be all macho and try to climb the lions. I, needless to say, failed this. Then, on to Maxwell's. (Again, burger and chips all round. For some reason they decided that all vegetarians must want a giant mushroom in their burgers...) Thank goodness my burger was a spicy bean burger: most of the real burgers were very pink in the middle, causing a panic attack from a hypochondriac among us.

After leaving in a flurry to escape more poisoned food, we went shopping! I was, however, disappointed with Covent Garden. There were a lot of shops and market stalls: but most of which were tack. I counted about three worthwhile shops- two of which were too expensive for my £40 budget. I ended up in the H&M round the corner! I did manage a new t-shirt sporting the slogan 'Being mean is mean' from one of the expensive shops though: it was half price at £10.

Three hours later, we all gathered on the coach, very tired, ready to go home. Fun was had by all, and I can't wait to tell Mummy that they're thinking of a trip to New York that I simply must be on next year!

Pictures will be up soon, as soon as I upload them from Vicki's camera to my computer.

Love to all xxxx

We Laughed So Hard It Would Sting.

Well hello. As promised, an update.
(Today's title from Disenchanted -My Chemical Romance.)

I spent today in the Drama room preparing for the final performance, in which I was playing Princess Cassandra of Troy. (I got to finish the play with a dramatic suicide off the Scaean Gates. It was great!) It went a little bit wrong in the middle with someone (not me!) forgetting they had to be onstage. I was stood like a lemon for ten seconds longer than I should have been waiting for her!

I'm now going to give you some quick facts whilst doing my History Coursework that I have 2 hours to start and finish.

I dyed my hair yesterday (yes, again.) so it is now ginger (lighter than my natural, but close) with red chunks. I like this one! I did it to go with my outfit for the theatre tomorrow night. Yes, I'm off to London with my Drama class to see The Woman In Black. No idea what it's about, but apparently it's really scary. I'll just have to plant some "big strong men" (Kieran and Vicki, no doubt) on either side of me. I'm ridiculously excited: the last time I was in London was to see McFly, and I don't know if I ever went before that!

I made my best friend's boyfriend cry today. Well, serves him right if he will tell her he's worried she'll go flirting with everyone else whilst she's in London. Shouldn't be so paranoid.

I now have a pretty new necklace, made by Mummy and Livvie. It's bright pink with black beads, to go with my new dress. I'm going to be all pink and red and black. Even my fingernails! Oh, I'm such a girl.

Having missed my last History lesson due to being poorly (all better now!) this coursework is very difficult. I'm using Vicki's notes, and she has a very different note-taking style: random words scattered aimlessly about the page. This coursework is going to have to wait.

I now having a whinging boyfriend and an unpacked bag to attend to. And Uncle Chris: that was waffle!

Will update as soon as I'm home from London to let you all know how it went!

Danger, Danger. High Voltage

Welcome.

It's 5 to 11, so I'll keep this quite short. I've just popped in to say hello, and that this will be my brand new project. I managed to keep up the wearing slippers every day thing I had going, so this shouldn't be too hard!

(I was just about to explain my blog's title when I realised I can't actually remember what I put for my URL. One second, let me rack my brain... Oh yes. I can get a record player. It's a line from a song.)

The title of my blog is significant: it was the song I was listening to at the time. 'Danger! High Voltage' - Electric Six. I almost went to see them, only Daddy didn't want to go if he had to stand in the back of a smoky club avoiding the mosh pits. Which is fair enough, although I do still hold a grudge. He and I spent a good twenty minutes stuck in traffic on the way to Kent 'moshing' to Gay Bar, whilst getting rather odd looks off surrounding cars. 'Twas fun.

As you may have realised, I have the tendancy to go off on a tangent. Mother calls it 'bunny brain'. I'll be halfway through a sentence when I'll suddenly have a totally unrelated thought and revert to that instead. Like right now, whilst telling you this, I'm thinking about how impressed you must be that I'm not 'tlkin lyk dis' (talking like this) like most other 15 year old girls. I strongly disapprove of people who feel that typing with no grammar or spelling is neccessary.

There. As predicted (by me) my 'quite short' post has turned into ten minutes of typing. Well, I suppose I should get to bed now; seeing as I sent my boyfriend home an hour ago so that I could get my stuff ready for school tomorrow and get an early night. Oh well, I'm sure he'll understand my need to do something entirely different than what I first intended.

I'll update tomorrow, between doing a whole piece of History coursework in 3 hours and entertaining a friend who's coming to stay before we go off to London Tuesday morning.

Night night xxx
